ORBIT is Optimizing Regional Businesses through Internet Technology. These seminars introduced participants to many Internet marketing tools that will help their small business develop and maintain a professional online presence.

In this interactive class, participants learned about:

  • online marketing and why it matters to their small business
  • many of the low- and no-cost tools that are available
  • key success factors (do’s and don’ts, must haves vs. nice-to-haves)
  • how to measure success

Participants also watched live demonstrations including:

  • how to set up and use a basic website
  • how to set up and use an email campaign
  • “new media” and social media tools
    including blogs, video, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Tweetdeck and Hootsuite

Participants also learned about:

  • website hosts
  • content management systems (CMS)
  • search engine optimization (SEO)
  • website analytics (how to measure and track visitors)
